Bay View runs along SH2 north of Napier, with the Esk River mouth at its northern end where SH5 from Taupō joins the coast road. Rather than you taking the car into town, Niah and Ben come out to you and do the Full Detail at home: carpets, mats and seats deep cleaned, the dash, trims and console wiped down, and the outside snow foamed and hand washed.
Bay View is a coastal settlement with rural land behind it, so the cars here tend to work for a living. Fishing gear from the shingle beach, dust from the back roads and the odd wet dog all end up inside, and sand settles deep in the boot carpet where it is hardest to reach. A wipe and a vacuum only take the top layer.
How Bay View Is Served
Niah and Ben come to you anywhere in Bay View, from the houses along the beach side of SH2 to properties further back from the coast. They work on your driveway or in your yard, and you hear back from Niah or Ben first to set a time.
Between The Shingle Beach And The Esk Valley
Surfcasting Gear And Wet Boots
Fishing off the steep shingle beach means wet gear, salt water and sand in the boot. Left to sit, it leaves damp carpet, a lingering smell and fine grit deep in the liner.
Salt Spray Off The Open Coast
Bay View faces the open sea, and onshore wind carries salt spray inland. It dries on paint, glass and chrome as a dull film, and summer sun makes it harder to shift.
Fine Silt And Dust
In 2023 Cyclone Gabrielle left deep silt across the neighbouring Esk Valley. Dust that fine scratches paint when it is wiped off dry, so it needs a proper pre-wash before anything touches the panels.
